The beach became known from the film "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" with the name "Pelagia beach." The beach was used on the poster of the movie and you'll see in the first scene.

The Chorgota is paved with pebbles with crystal clear waters. It is not organized and has wild natural beauty.

Access is from the village of Komitas and follow the signs to St. Sophia. The road is paved to the intersection for Chorgota (right at 6.5 km from Komitata, in the middle of a small straight) and then continues a narrow dirt road only 900 meters.

From this beach you view the beautiful Ithaca.
